parkrun #154...

Thursday

we took Jamie to his first BBL match - at the Gabba between the Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Thunder...the Thunder, thanks to a ton from Watto made 6/186 and then had the Heat 2/10 after 3 with the bash brothers (McCullum & Lynn) out when one of the light towers went out...after an hour play was abandoned due to safety concerns which was a shame...

it was a very efficient process getting to & from the ground on public transport...love the busways...

Friday

I went for another caching walk - DNF'd the first one (solved a puzzle, had the correct GZ, think it's missing), found one and then located another cache but am unable to retrieve it without either a ladder or a monkey...I did however make a difficult climb to what I thought was the cache but only contained some information for opening the cache to access the log (d'oh)...

received an email from Ticketek/the Gabba to say that they were giving out tickets to the first 4 days of the First Australia/Sri Lanka test at the Gabba to those that attended the abandoned BBL game as a gesture of goodwill...sweet!...we now have six tickets to Day 1 of the Test...this will be Jamie's first Test...we've taken him to his first ODI, first BBL match and now first Test!

the sixth round of the annual Yahtzee championship was held early...Tammie won by 3 from Rachael...

Tammie is leading with four wins with one apiece to Rachael and me...we are also keeping track of the overall score - Tammie leads as expected with 9980pts, Rachael is second with 9862 and I'm third with 9514...

later we watched the end of the ODI and then the 'canes get home in a thriller over the Scorchers...

Saturday

I ran on my 21st parkrun course - Logan River...mostly concrete paths, one uphill early (pedestrian bridge), three u-turns which made for some squeezy two-way traffic on the path...pretty surrounds...and there was a coffee van for those that like that sort of thing...

this was another milestone because I was allowed to "run" the entire course!

it was quite hot work so I was happy to guzzle down a choccie milk supplied by Tammie (perfect timing having arrived back from the shops) and then hop in the pool for a float around...
