parkrun volunteering & cricket...

Friday...we had wind, we had rain, we had sunshine...

today I was volunteering at the return to Tuggeranong parkrun...

I had a break of a couple of hours before heading to O'Connor for my next cricket match...we were taking on the Lake George Bunyips who were on top of the table undefeated...

they won the toss and elected to bat...I ended up opening the bowling as our usual opener had his wisdom teeth out on Thursday...

they put on 107 before we took a wicket in the 23rd over to head into drinks...from there they ended up with 7/226...I finished with 9-1-2-37 and also picked up a catch at midwicket...

in reply we got off to a steady start with the openers putting on 69 before our first wicket fell in the 13th over...the next two wickets fell for only 16 runs before I joined opener Smithy...we took the score to 101 in the 23rd over before Smithy was given LBW for 70...drinks were taken...

126 required off 137...Cam and I added 67 before Cam hit one straight to cover and called yes, I called no, he kept running...needless to say he was run out...by now we needed 61 at just under a run a ball...

28 was added for the next two wickets with me getting out caught trying to go over the bowler in the 40th over...

this left 31 required at just over a run a ball...with two overs to go we needed 12 then off the last we needed 5..2 off the last ball then two dot balls as our #9 couldn't get the ball away...3 needed off 3...a single so 2 off 2...then another dot...2 needed off 1...they got the single...

it was a really good game played in good spirit and in the end neither team deserved to lose..I ended up with 37, Cam got 26 and our unbeaten players, Brodie and Terry scored 26 and 12 respectively...
