I pottered about the house doing some housework before heading to Fyshwick to check out Anaconda...didn't buy anything so decided to do some caching instead...
found five in Narrabundah and Griffith...
back home to watch the Test before heading to mum & dad's for dinner...
later that night I found out that the preliminary final between Harman and Workers Redbacks got on at O'Connor with a massive win to Harman so it will be a semi-final rematch at O'Connor on Saturday...
yesterday Jodie, Lisa and I teamed up to do the Paddy Pallin 6-hour rogaine at Orroral Valley...
rego opened at 8 and we arrived just before 8:30am...
we planned our route based on the reverse of the beginner loop suggested in the course setters' notes...
when we got underway at 10am, 30 out of the 87 teams headed for the same first control (#47)...
we hit our first 9 planned controls pretty much without any issue...however, once we crossed the river, I had issues with counting gullies/watercourses and three of our next four controls provided adventurous...
control 30 (the spur) provided our most difficult to locate as the "green" was quite thick...I misjudged how far we needed to go, both to find the right sour and how high...to top it off Jodie lost her sunnies as well...
the leg from 46 to 30 took just over 30mins which put us at the halfway mark time-wise so we decided to have a lunch break which took about 20mins...
we had the similar trouble at the next control although we corrected my error quicker...
after that we had a pretty smooth run although this side of the river was a bit hillier...
in the ended we found 20 controls as planned and finished in 5:31:46 (5:31:04 officially)...we covered 17.51k and managed to finish before the rain came...the temperature reached a top of 26 and it was quite a nice day to do it although it did get windy every now and then...

surprisingly no team cleared the course with the best being Craig Cowan and Paul Imhoff collecting 1990 points (40, 28.3k) out of a possible 2240 (43 controls)..
