Sunday morning was quite warm from the start...there was a nice cool breeze...
I got down to Stromlo Forest park in time to see the 30k runners start (7:30am)...the 10k got underway right on time...
we had to do a loop of the criterium track first before heading onto the trails...my goal was to finish in under an hour and I also wanted to run the whole way...
ks 3 & 4 and 6, 7 & 8 were hard work - I passed people walking up the hills and then they would fly past me on the downhills (clearly no sense of self-preservation!)...
I picked up a couple of places in the last k as I put my foot down on the criterium track...
the stats:
start temp/humidity: 16.3/77% (apparent temp same)
start time: 7:59am
total distance: 9.98
total time: 55:18
avg pace: 5:33
total calories: 746
avg HR: 156
recovery HR: 117/5
heartbeats per k: 866
splits: 4:45, 5:11, 5:52, 6:12, 5:23, 6:06, 6:31, 5:52, 4:57, 4:29
hung around for the 10k presentation chatting - Jen was second female and second age/sex adjusted while Dave was first age/sex adjusted...
results added 21/11/16: I was 71st overall out of 370; 31st on age/sex adjusted; 23rd female overall, 12th on age/sex adjusted...
James Minto won the 30k before I left...I didn't envy the 50k runners in that heat...they had a 5hr time limit too...
pottered about the house before heading back to Manuka for the 2nd ODI...
this time Australia batted first and after a slow start, managed 4/278 with Lanning scoring a somewhat streaky 134 off 122 (her 9th) while Perry backed up from Friday with 95* off 129...they put on 224 for the third wicket...Lanning was aggressive from the start while Perry was content to nudge the ball around before accelerating late in her innings...
South Africa's replay was interrupted by rain twice - 3/56 off 18.2 then for the last time at 5/119 off 31.2 when the target had been revised to 241 off 38....
in the end the Aussies won by 66 on DLS method*...*DLS = Duckworth Lewis Stern, renamed in November 2014
this morning when I headed out to walk the boys, my car was "ticking" again...I turned it on to make sure the battery was ok for me to drive it to the dealer and then it wouldn't turn off!
I took it for a short drive up the street and back and this time it turned off...
after walking the boys and getting ready for work I dropped it in to the dealer...again it wouldn't turn off and they took it straight away to be checked...it's frustrating that they can't yet pinpoint this random issue!
tonight's street O is at Wanniassa so I will bus to Woden and then Jodie will drive to my place where I will put the bike in Tammie's truck for O...the map for this one is printed on A3 so I may not be able to get all 20!
