ah yes, Thursday after finishing packing, I drove Jodie's car back to her place and then Lisa's dad drove us to Vibe Hotel Canberra next to the airport...
we figured with an early morning flight it was easier to leave from there than home...
Friday morning we were up bright an early at 4:15am to be ready to get over to the airport by 5am...our flight was on time...
we had breakfast before passing through border control and checking out the shops...
our flight was also on time leaving from Sydney...we were pleased to have bulkhead seats which gave us plenty of leg room...
I watched the following movies on the flight - Bad Moms (very good), The Secret Life of Pets (good), Eddie the Eagle (very good), Superman v Batman (I think I dozed off in spots as I found it hard to follow the plot!) and Finding Dory (for the second time, still very good)...
we ended up being 45mins early into LAX and had to sit on the plan for 15mins until border control were on duty at 6am...
we cleared Customs etc by 7am..I had arranged a luxury pick up from the airport and it was very cool to be greeted by the driver with my name showing on his tablet...
we made a quick stop at a servo (aka gas station) to grab some water and nibblies before being able to check in to one of our two rooms early at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Anaheim...
after a short break, we went for a stroll to Disneyland to pick up our 4-day park hopper tickets then walked (and walked, and walked) to Target to get some supplies...we picked up some ART shuttle tickets and caught the shuttle back to the hotel...
we were back out again at 5:30pm to catch the shuttle to the Honda Center to watch our first live NHL game between the Anaheim Ducks and the Arizona Coyotes...we were all feeling very weary but made it to the end with only a few micro sleeps!...the Ducks won 5-1...
we intended to catch the shuttle back to the hotel but it took too long so we called a taxi (we were waiting at a hotel)...sure enough, as the taxi pulled in the shuttle arrived...we stuck with the taxi and were back at the hotel in 15mins...
in the end I think I was pretty much awake for 38hrs before going to sleep...
this morning I was up early to go for a run...I had to keep reminding myself which way to look when crossing roads...

the Disney Channel was filming their Christmas special while we were there, mainly using the area near the Walt Disney & Mickey statue and then later, Main parade...
we got back to the hotel just before 5pm but will be heading back for the fireworks and more rides...our legs are feeling the walking!
