parkrun #64 & Sri Chinmoy Trail Ultra 103k (relay)...

went out to dinner with mum & dad and Jodie & Lisa to Turkish Delight in Belconnen...we had the #2 banquet and there was so much food! yum...

yesterday the conditions were again perfect for parkrun...

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 8.8/81% (apparent temp 7.4)
start time: 8:00am
total distance: 4.96
total time: 22:18
avg pace: 4:29
total calories: 327
avg HR: 160
recovery HR: 110/63
heartbeats per k: 717

splits: 4:26, 4:30, 4:28, 4:33, 4:20

36th out of 252, age 72.65%...2nd female out of 119...1st W45-49 out of 13...1 unknown male ahead of me...

spent the time before indoor helping Jodie & Lisa move all the stuff in storage back to their house....two trips with a trailer borrowed from Lisa's dad...

our indoor GF was at 4:15pm and we had to be there early for pre-match stuff as all three GFs were being live-streamed...

the Beartangs (combination of Bears & Mustangs) won the toss and fielded first...we got off to a slow start with only 48 on the board after 8 overs...our third pair put on 42 and Jodie & I combined for 34 (which should have been more if Jodie didn't get herself run out twice trying to hit 6s!)...we finished with 124, a total that was very defendable...

in the end our bowling (mostly) and fielding were on song and we restricted them to 14 to retain the trophy...

then it was back to Jodie & Lisa's for dinner and to watch the Raiders/Storm game after watching the final quarter of the Bulldogs/Giants...

I was up early this morning (5am!) to get down to the start of the Sri Chinmoy Trail Ultra at Rond Terrace...it was a beautiful morning to start the event...

this proved extra useful as I got to meet our first runner, Rosie...I was able to point her out for Thomo at the first changeover...

Rosie had estimated 2:20-2:40 for her leg...she came in at about 2:53...

Jodie gave me a lift to the Aboretum after I parked at the third changeover....mum & dad also came down to watch me start...

Thomo had changed his best guess from 2:45 to 3:00-3:10 but ended up coming in under 3:00 and I was underway at 12:21pm...

I had a pretty good run, running when I could and walking where necessary...no trips!

I had hoped to come in under 3:00 and was pleased to do 2:46:33...

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 17.4/56% (apparent temp same)
start time: 12:21pm
total distance: 24.13
total time: 2:46:33
avg pace: 6:54
total calories: 1926
avg HR: 149
recovery HR: 125/38

5:34, 5:39, 5:42, 6:02, 6:04, 5:43, 6:20, 11:48 (mostly walking up the side of BM), 8:47, 9:02, 7:36, 7:55, 7:06, 6:08, 6:00, 7:27 (includes road crossing), 6:35, 6:46, 6:41, 6:18, 6:14, 6:43, 7:30 (includes climbing in/out of drain to cross under Northbourne & another road crossing), 6:11, 0:41

this meant Jen got underway just on 3:10pm...

after some re-fuelling at the changeover and a chat to mum & dad...I did a quick change and got a late lunch before heading to the finish...

Thomo arrived (bearing cake) before 5:30pm and Jen crossed the line around 10-15mins later...

the fastest team overall was a mixed one containing Sam B, Michelle W, Scott I and Wayne C in a time of 8:51:XX...the fastest women's team 9:28:XX beat the fastest men's 9:37:XX...the first solo male crossed the line in about 11:52:XX...

it was a fun event to do as a team....
