we finally found out who our opponents are for our indoor cricket semi-final on Saturday @ Weston @ 4:15pm...but first, let me set the scene for you...the final ladder was:
- Jaguars (us; 10 wins/0 losses)
- Mustangs (7/2)
- Cyclones (5/5)
- Bears (3/7)
- Wolves (3/7)
- Panthers (2/8)
the semi finals should have been - Jaguars (1st) v Bears (4th) & Mustangs (2nd) v Cyclones (3rd)...however, the Cyclones (last season's losing grand finalists) had withdrawn from the finals "weeks earlier" as their main sport of softball conflicted with the finals timings...so the organiser, in his wisdom, bumped teams up instead of having the Cyclones forfeit*...
this means the Bears now play Mustangs...yet our opponent is not the Wolves (as they weren't expecting to play finals and so can't field a team) but the last-placed Panthers...bizarre and only in Canberra!
*the organiser did not want to take the option of calling the Cyclones for a forfeit and having the Mustangs go straight through to the final...he wanted two semis, so now he has two semis...
we played the Panthers on Saturday in the first match of our double-header and won 156 to -21 with Round 4 match ending up 149 to 83...
it was a miserable morning weather-wise this morning so after walking the boys I elected not to ride...
it was very windy for my run at lunch - not very enjoyable but at least it was done...
