home to shower and have breakfast before heading off to Sydney...
I found one cache on the way before heading straight to the CityFit Expo at the Hordern Industries Pavilion at Moore Park...lots of interesting stuff and I bought some compression guards to replace my tatty ones, two pairs of Injinji socks and some Bib Bits to replace safety pins for my race number...
I headed back to Arncliffe to check in then got changed and meandered my way back to Bondi (via a cache) to have dinner with the parental units at Hotel Bondi (their accommodation)...
I actually found another cache after I parked my car ($21 for 3hrs!)...
had a nice dinner before heading back to get ready for the race...
up on time this morning I was down at Sydenham Station by 6:40am...hopped off the train at Town Hall and was at the start by about 7:15am...
it was crowded as usual and I felt the crowd in general was just that bit more pushy than usual...the announcers said that 80028 people had entered...
the race got away on time and I spent the first 500m making sure I didn't trip on anything or anyone! Craig D (65:32) passed me with a hello in that time (he does that every time!)
I took manual splits...I didn't see the 1k flag so my 2k split was 9:20...I then spied the 3, 4 & 5k markers - 4:56, 4:59, 4:36...
I didn't see the 6k flag as we headed up Heartbreak Hill...Pieta S (68:06) passed me at this point...about a third of the way up I was ankle tapped by a guy as he switched from left to right behind me...I nearly went down and gave him a gobful...he apologised but I wasn't impressed...
my 2k split at the 7k flag was 11:02 (HBH official split 8:49)...I was aiming for 35mins on the official clock there and the clock said 35:11...
my splits for the next three flags were 5:21 (8), 4:34 (9), 5:16 (10)...I was hoping for 50mins on the official clock at the 10k mark and it read 50:14...
5:07 (11), 4:55 (12)...Lauren S (67:31) passed me here...4:32 (13) followed with 4:21 to the finish...the official clock read 69:28...I had 68:58 on my watch and my official net time was 68:57, my second fastest time and only the second time I had gone under 70 (the first time was in 2009 when I managed 68:25)...

Thomo (60:44) found me at the finish and we had a chat before I headed off to find mum & dad...we ended up having breakfast at Nikos...
we parted ways as they were staying on another night (and ended up going to Manly for the afternoon)...I headed up the hill and got on a bus to Bondi Junction without any delay...I was back at my car by 11:45am...
I stopped at Campbelltown to stretch my legs and find some caches...I also got petrol (95.7/litre)...
I found two more caches on the way home and checked one of Suze's (missing) and one of mine (needs new container and log) before getting home by 6:30pm...

Good race Bron. I saw most of the split flags although they're not always in the right spot. 1k is pretty much half way through the tunnel. I took a guess at that one this year - 2nd k is faster than the first.
