A bit of cricket...

Friday night saw the first WT20 night game at Manuka Oval...the Meteors were playing the VicSpirit...

The Meteors won the toss and put the Vics in which I thought was a bit unusual...they did take a wicket off the second ball of the innings (the first legal ball as the first ball was a wide) but that was about as good as it got as the Vics made 6/160...

The Meteors' chase never really got going and they were all out for 95 in 17 overs...

Saturday proved to much more to the Meteors' liking as they won their first WNCL match against the Vics in 7 attempts...

the Vics won the toss and batted first...however despite have probably one of the strongest top orders in the competition, it struggled to fire and they were all out for 205 off the last ball...

in response, everyone got a start for the Meteors as they won by 6 wickets with 27 balls to spare...Kiwi Sara McGlashan was top score with 62 off 70...

had a late dinner at Hog's Breath with squiggle and Tammie...

Sunday's WT20 saw the Vics win again, this time by 8 wickets with 19 balls to spare after the Meteors elected to bat first..

the Meteors made 7/121 which looked about 20 runs short and in the end was probably about 50 runs short they way the Vics batted!...

went for a ride in the afternoon around Lake Tuggeranong with squiggle and Tammie after a quick shop to buy a replacement helmet and gloves for squiggle...

the domestic season now takes a break for a month as the West Indies are playing Australia (the Southern Stars) in a 4 match T20 series and 4 match ODI series (the first 3 of which count for the ICC Championship):

I'll be in Bowral to do the live scoring...

on 19 November the Australian men take on South Africa in a day nighter at Manuka and I'll be doing the live scoring for that game too...

to round out the subject of cricket, yesterday I bought tickets for the WT20/BBL Finals which will be at Manuka on 28 January - I don't actually need a ticket as I will be doing the live scoring but I got them for other people (12 in total)...

Monday I didn't get out for a run but I did ride to/from work...got stuck at just about every ramp crossing on the way in and it was very windy for the ride home...

yesterday I took the day off work to play in the Monthly Medal...Tammie ended up winning on a countback after she played 2 shots better than her handicap...I finished =4th and my handicap will be back to 14 for Saturday...in fact, I've got two games of golf this weekend - stableford at Belconnen on Satruday as usual and stroke at the Gungahlin Lakes Open Day on Sunday...

today I'm planning to get out for an easy run at lunch followed by O at Red Hill after work...
