now for a cycling rant!...I have noticed that some motorists seem to have problems with cyclists crossing on-ramps…in particular, southbound from State Circle to Adelaide Ave and northbound from Hopetoun Cct to Adelaide Ave… these are ones without the green lanes where the signs for cyclists say “cross with care”…it is the cyclist’s responsibility to wait and cross at an appropriate time…so motorists, please do not slow down to give way to us as you only annoy the cars behind you and throw out my timing in crossing the ramp!
for the on-ramps/off-ramps with green lanes, it IS up to the motorist to give way to cyclists as well as to other traffic…I’ve had several close calls with motorists roaring up the southbound on ramp from Parkes Way to Commonwealth Ave!...it’s not like I’m not lit up like a Christmas tree and wearing the appropriate coloured clothing!!
got out for a short easy run at lunch and it was still windy, maybe even windier….have I mentioned how much I dislike it when it’s windy??!
so I expect it will be a windy ride home but hopefully some of it will be a tailwind!...edit: it was windy but there wasn't much of a tailwind...it was hard work!
