finished up my baking for Sunday then watched the cricket...
yesterday's long run was different...I headed for Suze's place in Macgregor - running for 90mins before being picked up and driven the rest of the way for a cooked breakfast before golf (Eggs Benedict with hash browns)...ended up near Florey on Ginninderra Dr...passed some runners at the tail of the Parkrun field near Diddums Close...
golf was just a social round as the Mixed Foursomes Championships were on...no day comp for the women although the men not playing in the championships could still play comp...need to get that fixed...
pretty windy and cold on the course...our scoring wasn't that good so probably just as well it wasn't comp!
played indoor at Weston at 5:30pm...we (Weston Creek) beat Tuggeranong 185 to -7...might sound boring but we actually had a really good time...
this morning we played Tuggeranong at Amaroo in cool and windy conditions...it was a tough contest...we had our chances to score but couldn't quite finish...
about halfway through the last quarter I went up in a ruck contest and came done on my opponent's foot, rolling my left ankle quite badly (I heard and felt a crack!)...for the first time ever in my long sporting career I was stretchered from the field of play...!
after a few hours and an x-ray at Calvary I was given the all clear...what was bizarre though, was the x-ray showing a not quite fully healed transverse fracture of the medial malleolus...I reckon I sustained that break the last time we played Tuggeranong at the end of April...luckily it didn't affect my running...not taking a break from running/footy is the reason it is not 100% healed but at least it's OK and doesn't require any special treatment...
with my new injury, there's not much swelling (and only a little pain) but I'll take it easy (RICE) for the next couple of days as I hope to play on Sunday in our last match of the season...
back to the game, we lost 42-3 (they kicked seven straight) which was a vast improvement on losing 75-13 to them last time!
