Canberra Centenary Cyclegaine

yesterday was a busy day...

long run early, meant to be 90mins but I cut it short to 75 as my ankle was aching...conditions were quite good with the wind not picking up until after I had finished...lots of puddles to avoid due to the heavy overnight rain...

golf (stroke), started off well but I struggled from the 7th...

Suze filled in for indoor cricket - I think her first game perhaps?...a couple of our regular players didn't field and bowl as well as usual but we ended up winning quite comfortably...the grand final is next weekend...

had dinner at Jodie's place as I was collecting the bikes for Team JOB's next event - the Canberra Cenentary Cyclegaine...

today was the Cyclegaine...up at 7am to be down at the Hash House by 8am...maps and instructions were collected then we had to plot our route to collect as many points as we could in the 6hrs available...

we were underway right on 9:30am...we ended up returning with 22 minutes to spare after visiting 23 controls and covering over 41ks...we collected all 18 of the controls we planned to visit, 4 optional ones which we had picked out as maybes and 1 unplanned one...

our route took as around West Basin in an anti-clockwise direction with detours to the Yarralumla Horse Paddocks,Yarralumla, Deakin (were we had to change a tube on Jodie's bike as it had a slow leak) and Acton Peninsula...then we headed in to ANU and then around Black Mountain before returning tp the Hash House for some well earned cheese toasties!

it was pretty windy for the back end of the event but otherwise conditions were pretty good...

we finished with 1320pts and I think we get a 50pt bonus for having a novice with us...we didn't hang around for the presentations due to the wind so it will be interesting to see the results when they are posted online...
