it started raining about an hour or so in and didn't stop...we made a couple of stops on the way and reached the ground by about 9:30am...
there was no decent area to warm up and there was a game on before us so we made do with a very soggy pathc of ground and had about 10mins on the ground before the game started...
it took us awhile to get going and I didn't get a touch on the ball until halfway through the first quarter...and it was our first quarter that cost us as we probably had more than our fair share of the ball and position in the rest of the game but just couldn't get the numbers on the scoreboard...they kicked 2.4 in the first quarter and kept us scoreless...the second quarter we dominated play but they got a breakway goal while we kicked 3 behinds...I had a good chance to kick a goal from a set shot just inside the 50m almost directly in front - I had the distance but not the accuracy as I put it out of bounds on the full to the left side...
in the end we went down by 23 points, our closest margin ever in Wagga...we certainly weren't disgraced but definitely need to work on converting all our chances...
we had a team lunch at the Riverina Hotel (where the service took forever although the food was good) and made it back to Canberra just after 5:30pm...we left in darkness and returned in darkness!
yesterday I had a sleep in before heading out for my run in sunny but windy conditions...it was a bit of a struggle but at least I got it done...
today I dropped my car in at Mitchell for a quote on the missing coolant issue...it was the coldest ride to work I've had so far this year...
at lunchtime I went for a test drive of a Mazda CX-5 in Phillip...was planning to test drive a Honda CR-V as well but in the end liked the Mazda so much I paid a deposit on a sky blue one which I will be getting on Friday!
got a quote for my car repair which was $1500+ and that wasn't taking into the account a clutch which needs replacing so it was a good choice to get a new car...I declined to get the work done on the car...I will strip it down and send it to the wreckers!
footy training was held in icy conditions...we did our usual warm up and some skill ends before playing soccer for the rest of training...my hands and feet were frozen by the end and it took a nice hot shower to warm up again!
