this morning I was much better...and had a very zippy ride into work which I think must be a PB for that trip...
once again it looks like a fast ride in to work precipitates a fast FkF!
conditions were quite muggy and it was windy on the lake's edge for the most part although there were some sheltered bits...Tim decided to run with me again because he had a "calf issue" and I said he might struggle to keep up (who am I kidding?!)...he variously ran next to me, up to 20m in front of me, behind me or wide of me so as not to block other runners...he took it upon himself to act as a race tactician, feeding me tips all the way along...
it was quite a sizeable field and there were lots of speed demons but I think only two passed me as I somehow managed to lower my PB to 21:24 (call ASADA!)...my handicap should go out to 15:15 next week as I broke 36:30 on the clock...speedygeoff started with us but ran 24:38 (I think) so his handicap should go back in...no Cookie today as she decided work was more to her liking (as if)...
interestingly, speedygeoff reckons my halfway split had me on 21:00 pace so I need to work on the middle/back half of my run!...or perhaps not start quite so fast (as if that will change!)...
Mike gave us an update on Nick and it seems he is improving but it will be a long road to travel...we are making the point score presentation/pack run day (28 June) a day to collect donations for some sort of rehabilitation gift for Nick...
have to make sure I pack all my footy gear tonight as we have an early departure in the morning to head to Wagga...meeting at 6:15am at Gold Creek Maccas and leave by 6:30am once all the vehicles are loaded...
speaking of cars, I am looking to buy a new one and have narrowed the search to five options (in no particular order) - Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, Nissan Dualis, Kia Sportage and VW Tiguan...hopefully I can get a good dealing leading in to the end of the financial year...my car is 10 years old with just over 180000k on the speedo and is starting to fail in some crucial (and expensive!) areas....
