Handicap...

oops, been a bit slack blogging thanks to my loonnngggg weekend!

finished work early as planned on Thursday...it was pleasant to ride home with the sun still up...

Friday morning, we dropped Sherlock off with Suze for the weekend then, after removing the roof racks and new tyres, took my old car to Ezy Scrap in Mitchell...

it was also the day for the last run of the point score for the first half of 2013...I knew I needed to finish about 8 places ahead of Jacob to steal the trophy...I did a solid run, starting off 14:45 after the handicapper eased me in by 30secs...Tim ran off 18:00...conditions were still and quite pleasant...

Jacob was off 18:45 and must have pushed reasonably hard to catch Tim but then the wheels fell off for him as he DNF'd with a calf injury...I'm not sure how that affects the point score so we will have to wait for the announcement at this Friday's run...

after the run we headed for Batemans Bay...we did a couple of caches on the way - one on the Captains Flat Rd outside of Braidwood (a small detour) and the other off George Bass Drive past where we were staying...had a nice dinner at the restaurant at our accommodation...

Saturday we had an easy morning, wondering if we were going to play golf at Catalina as it rained all morning...in the end we decided to go and the conditions weren't too bad as we only had a couple of spots of drizzle...this was Tammie's first handicap card as she has recently joined my club...

not long after we finished and packed up the car, the skies opened again - timing!...we found one cache (lucky we had our golf umbrellas with us!) before heading back to the accommodation...

Sunday morning I did my first long run in three weeks...no rain but it was quite overcast and quite cool...we did a couple of caches before heading to the course again...

this time the rain held off until we started the 10th hole...it was mostly persistent drizzle until we hit the 14th hole and then it got quite heavy...we ended up playing out the round (once you're wet, you're wet!) so Tammie completed her second handicap card (one more card and she will receive an official handicap)...at least we had a change of clothes for the drive home!

the rain was pretty heavy on the way back to Canberra but we were through the worst of it once we were over the Clyde...

today I cancelled the rego on my old car and will be getting back the princely sum of $62 (rego was until 6 August)...other than that we did a spot of shopping - stuff for Sherlock including a scratching post and a heated pet cave!, golf gear/clothing (sale at Pete's!)...picked up some mail from the parcel locker and called past work to see if my new phone (iPhone 4S) had been delivered (it had been attempted on Friday so I picked it up from the PO)...

training was cancelled due to ground closures so I had a reasonably relaxing evening setting up my phone and getting ready for my last 4 day working week in a while...
