Saturday:
had fun at golf (foursomes) even though our score doesn't reflect that...Suze and her teammate were 6 shots off the pace in the championship, sitting in equal 2nd...
Suze and I then headed home and took Hux out for a run (well, we were on our bikes!)...
Saturday night was spent at the Ainslie footy club for the club baseball presentations...it was good to catch up with the rest of the team...
Sunday:
up at 5:15am to be down at Manuka by 6am to get ready for my volunteering stint...I was stationed at the half marathon turn on Parkes way and it was great to see and support all the runners...I finished up at 10:15am after returning a lost child to his mum (his dad was running the marathon)...
then it was off to footy via home to pick up Jodie (I know, fraternising with the umpire!)...
it was a tough game...we lead by 3pts at quarter time..0.3 to 0.0!...the halftime score was 0.3 to 0.1!...I benched myself after costing the side a free kick in attack (breaking team rules for backchat - "it's not tiddlywinks"), I was off for about 5mins...
midway through the 3rd quarter I was grabbed as I was shaping to kick in our attacking 50m and slung to the ground after the kick...I landed on my outstretched right arm and felt immediate pain in my lower arm...I played on for another 5mins or so, contesting in the rucks left handed but then after we kicked a goal I noticed a weird swelling on the back of wrist and off I went...
the Div 2 strapper checked it out and advised an x-ray...luckily mum and dad had come to watch...it was 3/4 time with the score 2.8 to 0.2...
we went to Calvary and I was lucky to in be and out within 2.5 hours...following x-rays, it appears that I have a "closed comminuted, intraarticular fracture to the distal radius"
it's currently back slabbed and I'll be off to the registrar review clinic at Canberra Hospital this week to see what the next step is...
Jodie appeared as I was waiting to be x-rayed and my first question was did we win! and yes, we did 2.8 to 1.2...I would have felt worse if we lost!!
managed to make it to Civic Pub last night to celebrate the win (the first by any of the senior teams this season) as well as one of the player's birthday...

Ouch - what a bummer! But at least you had a well deserved win. Do hope it doesn't take too long to heal. :(
Lucky the game wasn't Saturday. Wouldn't have been fun at the marathon with a broken wrist.
No wonder they call you all rounder. Do you ever sleep? I hope you will be OK and make a fast recovery Bron.
