Footy, footy and some running...

Friday

we played the Div 2 GF at Greenway against Belconnen...despite scoring the first goal it wasn't to be a fairytale ending for us...we went down 43-9 (or 44-8!)...we played hard but fair and were simply beaten (thanks Ewen for pointing my typo out) by the better (but not fairest) team on the night...

we all headed home for showers and then met back at The Civic Pub around 10:20pm and the party kicked on from there...for the first time ever I arrived home with the sun already up for the next day!

Saturday

after about 2.5 hrs sleep & a shower it was back to Ainslie Oval to watch the Div 1 GF between Eastlake and Ainslie (Eastlake won), the Div 4 Canberra District GF between Yass and Gungahlin (Yass won) and finally the Div 3 CD GF between Belconnen and Gungahlin (Gungahlin won after being 39 pts down at one stage and 20 pts down at three-quarter time!)...

home for a shower and then back to the Old Canberra Inn for the club's weekly awards and to celebrate the end of the season...

a few of us headed back into The Civic Pub - no late night for me this time, home just on midnight after giving a teammate a lift...a couple, however, did kick on to 6:30am!

Sunday

woke up to pouring rain which cleared in time for the Masters' Monthly Handicap, this time at Blewitt Pines (7k)...not cold but a bit breezy...

I started in Group 33 (with Kevin O'K & Jeni G) and finished 62nd of 81 in a net time of 36:10...

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 14.3/84%
start time: 9:28am
total distance: 7.11
total time: 36:10
avg pace: 5:05
total calories: 564
avg HR*: 172

*Time spent in HR Zones:
00:02 [Z1: 93-111]
00:01 [Z2: 111-130]
00:11 [Z3: 130-148]
21:45 [Z4: 148-167]
07:08 [Z5: 167-185]

1k splits: 4:57, 5:13, 4:34, 4:48, 5:19, 6:06, 4:39, 0:34

quite a tough course with a hill (from about 5k) in the second part of the course which just seemed to go forever (as evidenced by my time)...

headed to Manuka Oval to watch Jodie umpire her first reserves match (an elimination SF!) - also the first time she'd worked the 3-umpire system...they copped a very heavy downpour in the first quarter and it pretty much rained from then on...

Beaten by a better team ;) Just like Essendon v Bulldogs on Friday night.

You have good staying power. The last time I tried that sun-up thing was in the 1980s.
