this sounds like a repeat of last Friday but I was 59 seconds quicker - a BIG PS PB (and the fastest I have run Customs since 28 July 2006!!)...a lack of jewellery mishaps clearly made the difference!
this was one of those runs where I felt good from start to finish, running strongly and reasonably consistently (for me!) without any of my usual "flat" patches...
after last week's effort, 60secs was added to my handicap so I started 15secs behind Denis G with Richard N starting with me...
my usual fast start saw Richard drop off almost straight away...I managed to catch Denis before the 1.5k point and then it was just a case of trying to reel in other runners...

the conditions were almost perfect, with just a touch of wind...I think I finished in the top couple of people so I expect the handicapper will be adding a bit more on next week...
looking ahead to the weekend, tomorrow I'm playing golf and the participating in a "bonding" session with my Gungahlin Jet teammates with barefoot lawn bowls in Braddon follow by dinner at The Civic Pub...
Sunday sees me acting as team adviser for the Belconnen Brindabella Shield team as they, lead by captain Suze, try to win the final against Royal Canberra @ Queanbeyan...this is their 5th consecutive final but so far they have only finished as bridesmaids!...with an early start of 8:30am it looks like I'll be doing my long run afterwards...maybe from the golf course back into Civic?
