Customs #113...

a PS PB (and the fastest I have run Customs since 3 November 2006!!) but also a case of "what could have been"...

about 500m after the start I felt something brush my right thigh but thought nothing of it...then I grabbed my chain and realised my World Cup pendant had come off...I quickly backtracked and was hunting around for it hoping it hadn't dropped into the leaves when Denis G (who started 15secs behind me) ran by...fortunately the pendant had landed on the path and I soon had it in hand (phew!)...now the chase was on!...

Denis was firing on all cylinders and it took me until about the 1.5-1.75k point to reel him in...my next target was Geoff B who had started 60secs in front...I thought I was going to catch him just after the turn but he held me off until we had about 1.5k to go...

Denis and I always start relatively close together, normally me starting 15-30secs behind him but in recent weeks he's been starting behind me so it was good challenge to track him down...
