on a wet but humid night I managed to knock nearly 1:08 off my 10k track PB to finish 20th in a time of 48:41.81...most pleased to hold off Richard H as he was on my tail most of the run, even passing me three times in the last 10 laps or so...
I'm pretty sure I would have had a much faster time if I wasn't hampered by a stitch from ~5.2k through to ~9k...I don't think it ever really subsided, I just got better at ignoring it...first time that's happened to me in a race so I'll have to have a look at my preparation...due to the humid and wet conditions I even had to ditch my glasses as they kept fogging up!!
400m splits: 1:49, 1:51, 1:55, 1:54, 1:53, 1:55, 1:56, 1:56, 1:55, 1:57, 1:57, 1:56, 1:57, 1:58, 2:00, 2:01, 2:00, 2:00, 2:00, 2:02, 2:02, 2:02, 2:00, 1:59, 1:50
1k splits: 4:35, 4:43, 4:48, 4:50, 4:51, 4:57, 5:01, 5:02, 5:04, 4:49
5k splits: 23:49, 24:53
everyone finished under the hour, I think there were 30 finishers of 31 starters - Anne Y set a new record for the W70 with 58:53ish...

Congratulations! Good to see they had the 1/100ths working, although I confidently predict you'll break that PB by more than 0.81 next time.
Looks like a good day for the adventure race.
