Jim died during yesterday's orienteering event at Goorooyarroo...he collapsed while running his course...fellow orienteers worked on him until the ambulance arrived but he couldn't be revived...he was 65...his wife Anne was out doing her course when she came across the group working on Jim (other orienteers were trying to track her down to get her to him)...their son Tim came from Queanbeyan to be with them...Jim was a much loved and valued member of the orienteering community...
he did the Community event i organised and set at Ginninderra Creek in May last year, zipping over it in a superquick time and, knowing it was my first time setting/organising, took the time at the end to say how much he enjoyed it...he always had a smile on his face and always said hello...
he will be sorely missed...
