the orange 1 course was 6.2k, and it took me 56:39, a stated pace of 9:08...i wore my Garmin for the first time to see how far i actually went...
the stats:
start time: 5:16pm
total distance: 8.32k
total time: 56:38

a good workout with only 1 minor navigation error getting to the first control where i missed a shortcut...

i've added the elevation graph as well to show what a tough workout it was (well for me anyway!)

this morning i was up early to get to Commonwealth Park for the Australia Day Fun Run...
the stats:
start time: 8:01am
total distance: 7.86k
total time: 36:58
avg pace: 4:42
total calories: 673
avg HR: 169
run in cloudy and therefore humid condtions, i was pretty happy with this time as i was aiming for sub 38:00...caught up with Aki, FlashDuck, FlashDrake, Friar, speedygeoff and Peter H...
left just after the walk started to get ready for golf...this was the Australia Day Cup (stableford) at Gungahlin Lakes...conditions were quite warm (expected top of 31 degrees) as the sun was well and truly out...had an OK round considering i hadn't played for awhile...the round itself took 5hrs which is very slow...
after watching a bit of cricket, we decided to head out to do some geocaching at 7.30pm...we had aimed to do 3 but the first one took just over 2hrs and we finished in complete darkness...it was a good hike in Mulligans Flat...fortunately 2 of us had remembered our headlamps although we needed aeroguard and suze's normal prescription glasses (as opposed to her prescription sunnies!)...it was a great adventure...however i think we will do some caches in the morning rather than leave it until dark!...
got home in time to see the aussies beat sri lanka so a very good and productive day!
tomorrow it's meant to be 34 degrees...planning to do some geocaching, the Customs Run as well as play 9 holes of golf...

Geocaching is fun isn't it?
I went to my nearest local cache but unfortunately found it empty!!
Must try and look for another or hide my own.
As for Orienteering i contacted the local club and i'm waiting for them to send me out some more info. Can't wait for the Metrogaine next month either!
Have Fun!
