BBQ Stakes #1 & Tyson...

Tuesday

walked the boys then headed in to golf (stableford)...

had a good front 9 but blew it on the back to finish with 30pts...

easy 40 done in the late afternoon...

Wednesday

walked the boys before pottering around...

attended my first BBQ stakes...rocked early to get a handicap and some advice on the course from Adrian...I guesstimated 4:45 pace so started off 21:00...

I needn't have worried about getting lost as there was a line of runners ahead of me...ended up 11th over the line (only one passed me, another new guy) just behind the first eligible runner (Alison H) in a time of 29:01 (4:47)...

it's a challenging course with the first 2k uphill, then 1k downhill, then 1k uphill again before a mostly downhill finish...it's split about 50/50 between path and trail...

I think I'll try to get to this one on a regular basis, it just means catching a bus from Civic...next week's run is done in reverse as it's the first Wednesday of the month...

today

up early (4:10am!) to take Jodie and Lisa to the airport for a 6am flight to Adelaide where Lisa is competing in the 10th IDBF Club Crew World Championships for dragon boating...then it was back to bed for a couple of hours!

walked the boys and then befriended a dog on the loose in our street (and had been on the loose for a couple of days)...he was some sort of staffy cross but very friendly once I had put our boys in the yard...I posted a photo and note for the Canberra Lost Pet Database then we took him to the vet to see if he had a microchip...thankfully he did and we found out his name was Tyson...the vet will contact the owners and look after him in the meanwhile...

played 9 holes of golf with Tammie and Jordyn (her first time on a proper golf course)...

my planned easy run will take place later this afternoon...
