Hectic...

there we were about 20mins before we were planning to leave for the airport when we receive messages that our domestic flight had been cancelled!

we were giving the option of a flight that was 40mins earlier than our original or one 55mins later...of course, with an international connection we opted for the earlier flight which meant we had to get our skates on!

fortunately we made it and our respective families also made it to see us off...

this meant we had a longer wait in Sydney but Jodie was happy as she could browse all the duty-free stuff...

our flight with Hawaiian left 20mins late and we arrived in Honolulu about 30mins late...

our flight to Maui was at 2:20pm so there was enough time for Jodie & I to jump in a taxi and head to the nearest big shopping centre (Pearlridge)...we found one cache as well!

the flight to Maui only takes 30mins and we were lucky enough to get an aerial view of the run route - with the ocean on one side and the west Maui mountains on the other it was simply stunning!

after picking up our hire car (stay right, stay right) we headed for, you guessed it, more shopping!

in the end we made it to our accommodation in Lahaina (the start/finish for the HM and finish for the other three events) after dark so despite driving the route (which Jodie swears is all uphill) we didn't really get to see much...

the hotel is lovely and only two blocks back from the beach...hopefully I'll post some pics tomorrow when we can see it in daylight...

we plan to pick up our race pack at 10am and then have a Skyline Hawaii zipline adventure booked from 1pm at Ka'anapali...I'm sure we'll squeeze in some shopping (groan) and some caching (yay)...
