Vets...

three events, three slow times!

first up was the 3000m...started off fast but couldn't maintain it as usual...honestly is anyone surprised by that?!...13:32.85...

splits (7 x 400 + 1 x 200): 1:39 (!!), 1:48, 1:50, 1:54, 1:52, 1:53, 0:46

1k splits: 4:22 (!!), 4:40, 4:31

next was the 800m...I managed to do the first lap quicker than 1:30 but couldn't hang on...3:05.34...

lastly was the 7 Lap Spiral...started off Group 38 and finished 22nd in a nett time of 13:46.16...

Kathy S (who keeps kicking my butt) suggested getting racing spikes or even just racing flats...maybe that can be a reward IF I can break either 3:00 for 8oom or 6:00 for 1500m!

oh, my car should be fixed by next Friday...mum & dad arrived at the track to see me compete (I use that term loosely!!) in the 800m and the Spiral...they were kind enough to bring the "big" car for me to use again on the weekend (although it may not be necessary if it keeps raining in Sydney!)...

had a chat to Nick about Friar...seems he's a bit better than last Thursday night/Friday morning although still not 100%...more tests need to be done to see what the next step will be...

I'm not sure what Geoff thinks, but 1:44 per lap would seem an achievable schedule. The 1:39 may have hurt your final time somewhat.

The wind was bad for the 800s (fighting lactic acid and a headwind in the last 100). Racing flats (or the Frees like Geoff and myself use) would give you quicker times for sure. Spikes would help in the 800 - they take a while to get used to though.
