One of "those" runs...

I should have known it was going to be one of "those" runs when I looked out the window just before heading to Customs to see the trees being blown wildly around...

I should have known it was going to be one of "those" runs as I ran to the start under steadily darker skies...

I should have know it was going to be one of "those" runs when it started to rain before I'd reached 1.5k in...

and sure enough it was one of "those" runs...

Customs #93

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 15.6/40%
start time: 12:28pm
total distance: 5.03
total time: 25:52 (starting off 12:15)
avg pace: 5:08
total calories: 377
avg/max HR*: 164/196

*Time spent in HR Zones:

00:11 [Z2: 111-130]
00:03 [Z3: 130-148]
18:26 [Z4: 148-167]
07:19 [Z5: 167-185]

1k splits: 4:55, 5:37*, 5:10, 5:01, 5:02
(* includes short sharp hill through the tunnel up to Liversidge St at the end of this k)

I though I was running OK but that second k into the teeth of the wind combined with "that" hill gets me every time...the third k was also hard with that wind today...

wind average speed: 39-41kph with gusts up to 63kph!!

Jodie, on the other hand, had a great run with 29:54, only 10secs outside her best on the Floriade course...I'm clearly too soft...

and wouldn't you know it, as I ran back to work, the wind had died down, the rain had stopped and the sky lightened up...oh well, gotta have one of "those" runs sometime!

big weekend of cricket ahead with two practice matches in Sydney...hopefully the weather will hold...I'm 'keeping tomorrow as it's on synthetic but will be bowling on Sunday...

What happened with the 1:50 400? The rest were great - just over 4 minute/km pace.

Having a headwind up the hill is nasty.

I wonder if Rick Ponting can turn the Aussies around?
