aside from the usual cheering and high 5s, my favourite part from today’s parkrun was this:

a young lad and his dad were riding their bikes (coming from the direction of Bonython)...they stopped as the runners streamed past then the lad asked me what the run was so I explained parkrun...he asked me where the course went and in particular where it started...they rode off towards the start...I’m not sure how much later on it was but the lad came running back with his dad behind him on his bike and appeared to follow the course...he ended up finishing across the line as I got back...I took the opportunity to explain to him how to register as he looked keen!

had a bit of a break before cricket…

we played our grand final opponents from last season, Harman

they won the toss and batted first…they were 3/85 at drinks (23 overs) and were all out in the last over, the 45th, for 175…I came on first change into the wind and bowled my 9 overs straight for 3/35…

in reply we got the runs with 2 overs and 6 wickets to spare…I made a scratchy 14 and was the 6th wicket out…one of our openers scored his second successive ton…

didn’t do much Sunday except some caching by car (7 with 1 DNF) and getting ready for our trip to Brisbane…!

I did take the boys for a late afternoon walk…

Monday we were up early to go to the airport…we arrived in Brisbane to a nice and warm morning…

didn’t take long for us to hit the pool!

the first round of the Yahtzee championships commenced after dinner (lasagne)…

Tuesday morning Tammie and I headed out for an early morning caching walk…we found 6, DNF’d 1 in just over 2:45 (5.55k)…

we finished the first round of championships – Rachael won - before dinner (hamburgers)…we took Josh to karate afterwards then played the second round (Rachael won again)…

yesterday I did a solo caching walk (6 finds, 3hrs, 6.55k)…

then we took the kids (except Josh who was working) to see Gumpy at his place in Redcliffe…we had a nice lunch at Hogs Breath after a tour of Gumpy’s unit at Woody Point…

the kids had a swim at Settlement Cove lagoon before we headed back…

Tammie, Rachael and I headed out to bingo after dinner (egg & bacon pie)….no winners but it was good fun…

this morning I headed out for a short cache walk (2 caches) before we took Jordyn to Seaworld…
