AUS v NZ...

a day off, I took the opportunity to walk Hodge a little later...only Hodge as Hunter wasn't interested in walking in what little rain there was!

after that I did my run - back to the 30/30 x 20 session...my legs were very heavy and it was very muggy as well so it was a bit of a plod...

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 19.1/94% (apparent temp same)
start time: 9:53am
total distance: 6.89
total time: 40:00
avg pace: 5:48
total calories: 416
avg HR: 133
recovery HR: 91/34

did some washing and organised some food etc for the cricket before heading north to pick up mum & dad...

bought some cherries along the way before calling past Cook to give Carolyne her ticket...

it was still raining and off as we arrived at the ground before easing as we watched the teams warm up...the toss was delayed 30mins with the game getting underway only 15mins late with the full complement of overs...Zampa made way for Faulker while Ferguson was replaced by Southee for the Kiwis...

Australia rattled up their second highest score on home soil with 5/378...Warner lead the way with 119 off 155 while Smith back up his record breaking 164 with 72 off 76 (including an eye watering blow to the box)...a promoted Head made a rapid 57 off 32 before a slow starting Marsh rounded out the innings with an unbeaten 76 off 40 with 7 6s including 3 in a row in the last over off a hapless Henry...Santner was the only bowler to avoid any stick finishing with 1/47 off 10 while Southee was the only multiple wicket taker with 2/63 off 10...all up Australia hit 12 6s and 31 4s...

New Zealand were always going to struggle to chase such a big score and ended up being dismissed in the 48th over for 262 (6 6s / 22 4s)...Williamson in his 100th game top scored with 81 off 80 while Neesham made 74 off 83 and earned a sore arm after ducking into a Starc short one...Guptill was the only other to make a decent score with 45 off 33...Cummins finished with 4/41 while Starc, Hazlewood and Faulkner each took two...

all in all a good night in excellent company!

And saw you on TV a couple of times at the cricket. You were easy to pick with that lovely umbrella hat you had on 😊
