went to duck down the shops for dinner and my car wouldn't start (actually it wouldn't even unlock with the remote)...
called NRMA as I was having dinner (having walked to the shops) and they came within 20mins...
the battery was flat but it looks like something is draining it...the fly-wire throttle was making a ticking noise...so it will have to go back to the dealer (only had it serviced in August)...I had to leave the battery disconnected overnight...
managed to walk the boys, feed the animals, get ready for work and then have my car down at the dealer just after 7:30am...
it was warm and windy for my run...

got a call from the dealer which was full of bad news...apparently the car now wasn't turning off (which was new)...said I would have to take it to an auto-electrician to get the cause diagnosed as it would be an expensive exercise with the dealer and they might not solve the problem...
he asked about the damage to the front right (reverse parking incident in April, my fault, which I'd had repaired by one of the dealer's recommended repairers)...he intimated that this must be the cause...I'm not sure how he could link that to now...
so now I was planning to leave work early to take the car to the auto-electrician as recommended...then the dealer called back 25mins later to say he had spoken to the boss and they were going to try and fix it...I did point out that there was no mention of this issue at my last service (he agreed and said that was odd; maybe that was why they had changed their tune)...offered me a car in the meantime which I declined as it would just be an extra hassle...now the my car is staying with them until further notice...
I'm planning to go to track tonight for the first meet of the season so I better leave!
