parkrun #57, ACTVAC Monthly Handicap #25...

it was cool but relatively still for parkrun...managed to run nearly 2mins faster than FkF...and a much improved effort over the past two parkruns as well...

27th out of 220, age 72.22%...3rd female out of 104...1st W45-49 out of 11...

golf was monthly medal (stroke) and while I was pretty good off the tee (8 out of 14 fairways) and putted ok, the rest of my game was pretty ordinary as I racked up 103 (nett 92)...the round was also painfully slow (4hr 51m)...

indoor cricket was at Weston and I had just enough time to get changed and make it to the centre by 4...we batted first and scored 141 then restricted our opposition to -6...this week we moved to the usual 8-a-side after playing with 6 last week (and the three previous comps)...

I ended the night with dinner at mum & dad's...

this morning I ran the Little Black Mountain ACTVAC Monthly Handicap...I started in Group 33 after copping a 7 group penalty following my Mt Ainslie run...I crossed the line 39th - I think this course is much harder than Mt Ainslie...

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 10.8/73% (apparent temp 7.7)
start time: 9:37am
total distance: 8.98
total time: 47:03 (official 47:03)
avg pace: 5:14

the sun was out but it was quite windy...while the course was wet in places it was still quite firm underfoot...the Sri Chinmoy Duathlon course markings also confused some people...for instance, Helen, who started in the group in front of me and missed the first turn (or rather took it, thought she was going the wrong, turned back and ended up going the wrong way until we called her back)...

age 68.4%...I had the 15th fastest time overall...2nd fastest female out of 20 (behind Helen L who passed me at about the halfway mark), fastest W45 out of 2...passed 20 (some who probably took a wrong turn at some stage), passed by 8...

caught a couple of pokemon on the way back to my car...

after getting changed and returning home ti pick up my forgotten GPSr, I headed bak to Kama Nature Reserve (off William Hovel Drive) to do some caching...it was quite a nice if soggy underfoot walk and Ifound 9/9...I then headed back towards Aranda and found another five, including a nice long multi on the Frost Hollow to Forest Walk in the Aranda Snowgums Heritage Site...
