35th out of 181, age 72.28%...4th female out of 83...1st W45-49 out of 13...
golf (stroke/medal of medals): drove through rain to get to golf but it wasn't raining when I got there...a shame only 9 of the original field of 28 ended up playing...not my best round as I finished with a nett 80, 6 over my handicap...
headed to rego for the Triple Tri to meet the rest of the team and pick up our race numbers...we are competing in the Female Open T9 category as Rad's Roses...we are actually a team of 8 with one swimmer doing the first and third swims...
Sri Chinmoy Triple Triathlon = Swim 1.5km (Lake Ginninderra) + Mountain bike 35km + Run 20km + Swim 3.5km (Lake Burley Griffin) + Mountain bike 40km + Run 12 km + Swim 1.2km (Lake Tuggeranong although this year with the lake closed it was at the Tuggeranong Pool) + Mountain bike 24km + Run 13km (finishing at Yarralumla Bay)...this year is the 18th edition...
when I got home I changed the tyres over on my MTB...
this morning I was up early (5am!) to be down at the transition area just before 6am...with the usual finish beach at the eastern end of Diddams Close on Lake Ginninderra closed, the swimmers was a triangular course from the western end with the swimmers exiting just near the playground...this meant the bike leg was 1.5k longer, althought it worked out to be a couple of k longer than that in the end...
the individual competitiors (and any others requesting an early start) got underway at 5:30am with the team swimmers starting in two waves from 6am...mum and dad rocked up about 5-10mins before I was due to start...
Sam emerged from the water just after 6:30am and I was off...my goal was to finish in 2:45 and I was pleased to hand over to Elle in just over 2:30...
some highlights for me were:
- hitting the bottom of Push Bike hill in just over 47mins and emerging at the top having passed eight in just over 10mins!
- hitting 50+ kph on the descent of Black Mountain
- negotiating the single track on Bruce Ridge
- no mishap and no missed turns

a quick shower and change at home and we headed back to the golf course for another round...Tammie managed to finished second overall and win B grade while I had about the same as the day before...
we finished just in time (just before 3pm) to attend Delanie's 40th birthday celebrations which were also held at the golf club...we stayed there until 6:30pm ...
once home I changed my bike back into the "street O" bike for Jodie - tomorrow night's event is at Chapman...
