Physio...

we had a full day Sunday…Jodie and I were rostered on to help out at the ACT Middle Distance Championships for orienteering out near the Orroral Valley Tracking Station…we had to be there at 7:30am…while we were there we found a cache and collected the information to find another one…

we finished up there just before 11am and headed home…

then it was off to Sydney for Tammie, squiggle and me…we didn’t tell squiggle where we were going so she was most excited when she saw the Capitol Theatre and the advertising for The Lion King!...it was the second time I’d been (the first time was when it was first on) but the first time for the other two…

we saw the 6:30pm show which finished at 9:10pm so it was a very late night for all as we got back home just after 12:45am…

Monday I rode to work after dropping squiggle off at school…went to gym at lunch…I actually had to leave early again to pick squiggle up and take her to tutoring…I didn’t walk Hodge in the morning but did take him out after I dropped squiggle off…

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 12.1/100% (apparent temp same)
start time: 8:52am
total distance: 16.70
total time: 39:25 (including 0:32 stopped time)
avg speed: 25.4kph
total calories: 495
avg HR: na

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 19.1/57% (apparent temp same)
start time: 4:14pm
total distance: 17.70
total time: 43:23 (including 1:31 stopped time)
avg speed: 24.5kph
total calories: 448
avg HR: na

my doctor’s appointment also got moved from Wednesday morning to Tuesday afternoon which suited me better…

Tuesday I walked Hodge in the morning before driving to work after dropping squiggle off…

I added another gym workout, this time just a basic lower body one….

Dr McDonald, or Warren, was intrigued by my injury given that I have no stability issues when he gave it a full going over and just pain when he pressed in the area of the deltoid ligament…most of the other stuff is degenerative so not much I can do about it…he thinks I may have damaged my syndesmosis in the game I got stretchered off last season (second last game)…

he recommended physio and strapping for the rest of the season once I get back to playing…I only have to see him again if it hasn’t improved in two weeks…he's thoughts were that I should be able to get back to playing in four weeks or so although the deltoid ligament can be a bit niggly...

so I promptly booked physio for 11am Wednesday when I got back to my car…

last night I went to footy training with Jodie and we did a boxing session while the others trained after a debrief about the weekend’s game…

just after Jodie dropped me off a tree fell onto Boddington Crescent due to the strong winds (who knows what would have happened if we’d been 5 minutes later getting home)…luckily no one was underneath it and it was soon cut up and moved off the road…

this morning I again drove squiggle to school after walking Hodge…

the ride in was a struggle with the wind…but I didn’t end up being too much slower than normal…

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 11.8/65% (apparent temp 10.1)
start time: 9:00am
total distance: 16.67
total time: 41:53 (including 0:30 stopped time)
avg speed: 23.9kph
total calories: 474
avg HR: 137

my physio is a former cricket teammate so that was interesting…she was good though and I’ve got another appointment next week…I have to work on getting my flexibility and strength back in my left calf…

managed to fit gym in, a little later than normal…
