we played the league leaders on Sunday...despite getting off to a good start we couldn't consistently penetrate Riverina's defence...
in the end we lost by 47 points...our kicking from set plays really let us down...
on the positive side, my new piece of kit (padded undershorts) worked really well and I didn't suffer any corks or bruises on the outside of my thighs...now I just need to pad the rest of my body as I have some beauties on my forearms and knees!
I also ended up wearing headgear (borrowed from Jodie) from halftime as I'm sick of continually getting hit in the head with hands, elbows, knees, hips etc...it proved it's worth within in the first minute as I got hit in the head with a flailing arm and it didn't hurt! (plus I got the freekick)...so it'll be standard issue for the rest of the season...
I stayed and watched the Div 4 boys go down by 64 points to Cootamundra and then left at halftime in the Div 3 game (lost by 78 points to Woden) as it was just too cold and windy to hand around...neither of these two sides have had a win yet this season while our Div 2s picked up their first win of the season on Saturday (defeating Eastlake by 16 points)...
this weekend we have Eastlake and we are determined to score against them after losing our round 1 match by 85 points to 0...I don't think we've even kicked a goal agains them in 4 seasons!
did the ride /gym / ride routine yesterday...a couple of the weights were upped and my arms felt pumped up by the end...
the ride home wasn't too bad with a few spots of run...
training was great even though we only had 13 fit players there...we did a few different drills including one where we had to work blindfolded and rely on teammates to direct us around, handballing and kicking to targets...all good fun...
