What is it about people (in cars) stopping runners (especially me) to ask for directions?
I was just over 2k into my run and heading alongside Lennox Gardens when these two old guys (easily in their 80s) flagged me down...turns out they were looking for the Commonwealth Club on Forster Cr in Yarralumla (the same road the Canada Fun Run starts on)...I explained how to get there with minimal turns (they couldn’t do a u-turn where they were) twice (showing them on the map they had) but the driver was worried he’d still get lost so I jumped in the back and navigated them there myself...lucky I’d been there with dad for the Lord’s Taverners dinner back in ‘07....
It turns out the driver had just picked up Paddy (Irish of course!) from the airport...Paddy was over from England and these two hadn’t seen each other since 1942!...I think they may have served in the air force together back in WWII from what they were saying (I think the driver was a navigator then!)...anyway turns out that the driver thought they were going to the Canberra Club so it was lucky he picked Paddy up from the airport rather than meeting him at the club!
Paddy gave me his card and said I was to look him up if I ever went to England...the driver reckons I made their day!
After wishing them well I continued on my run and back to work...all up, an eight minute break...weird...

Your good turn for the year !! Well done.
Good story. They stopped the right person. You should have told them about a cache they could have found on the way ;)
