after a relatively relaxing day (I did go mtbing to do some caching plus helped Tim out for the last hour or so, including packing up), off to track I went...only 2 events for me tonight - 1500m / 3000m...
haven't done much faster work really since before Christmas so it was good to have a hit out...
was in the 3rd heat of the 1500m (18 or so runners) and went off like a rocket at the start (hee, hee)...had trouble getting an even pace for the remaining laps with the wind in the home straight bugging me more than it should have...12th in 6:17.90...
splits: 1:26, 1:46, 1:48, 1:18
then there was more than an hour until the 3000m...watched hurdles (boy they are high!), 100m sprints, a relay and a 400m...
was aiming for an even paced 3000m and sort of achieved it without setting the world on fire...16th (not last!) in 13:30.65
splits: 0:51, 1:47, 1:50, 1:51, 1:49, 1:49, 1:50, 1:43
1k splits: 4:28, 4:34, 4:28
at least it wasn't too warm - temps started at 21 for the 1500m and had dropped to 18 by the 3000m...

In the 15, you produced the definitive definition of "grinding to a halt" ;)
