Black Mountain Challenge
due to the Canberra Half Ironman road closures for those coming from the north, I parked at the bottom of Black Mountain and ran most of the way to the start - I caught up with Geoff B, Richard & Joy H halfway along the peninsula and walked with them the rest of the way...it was pretty cool waiting at the start and quite windy as well but it was ok during the run itself...
my plan was to run the whole way and I did!...passed a few people who were mixing in some walking and crossed the line in 27:50.51 by my watch...
the stats:
start temp/humidity: 14.0/58%
start time: 8:06am
total distance: 4.68
total time: 27:51
avg pace: 5:57
total calories: 371
avg HR*: 168
*Time spent in HR Zones:
00:07 [Z1: 93-111]
00:12 [Z2: 111-130]
00:27 [Z3: 130-148]
03:57 [Z4: 148-167]
23:27 [Z5: 167-185]
k splits: 4:57, 5:14, 7:04, 6:57, (3:39)
now I have to finish packing for my trip to Hobart - I'll be heading to the airport straight from Stromlo where I'll be doing another session of the MTB Clinic (focusing on single track, climbing, descending, and cornering)...
