a fair turnout tonight given the marathon was on Sunday...I think there were 16 (SG, Neil, Tony, Geoff B, Jodie, Rachelle, Miranda, Christine G, Jackie, Rod, Colin, Nick, Matt, Ruth, Margaret Mc & me)...

a variation on last week...after our two usual warm up laps (.178k & 1.14k) we then did a relay version of 100m easy / 200m hard...

the way it worked (after a minor hiccough) was that 4 people had batons and each started on 1 each of 4 cones spaced out around the track, there were also 4 other people without batons who also started on those same cones....on the start whistle the baton runners ran their 200m before handing over the baton and continuing on with their 100m easy and so on...we were meant to do 12 200s but after a misunderstanding on the first attempt where everyone did one 200m (some people ran when they shouldn't have, leaving cones empty of people), we re-started with 10 reps to be completed...this time we got it right!

on most occasions I had a little rest after completing my 100 easy (Geoff B was passing to me) so I tried to minimise Neil's rest by going a bit harder in my 200s!

effort times (secs): 46....46, 50, 48, 53, 50, 50, 49, 50, 53, 50

after a warm down lap (0.97k) Jodie & I raced off to footy training...all up 7.97k in 69:11...avg HR: 133...starting temp/humidity: 17.1/56%...

we will have the bare XVIII for Saturday...I will be playing centre half back while Jodie will be centre half forward...
