little did i think that when i first started with the Customs Joggers that i would still be sticking with it...in fact, the CJ run is celebrating its 30th anniversary in three weeks & there's still some runners around from the early days...
to today's run...back in the sub 22:00 "club" with my 3rd fastest time (yay)...wasn't as rushed as last week and just decided to go hard from the "bell"...FlashDrake and Richard N started at the same time as me but i didn't see or hear them again after 500m or so although i kept expecting them to pass me...
Tony O passed me before the turn and i think maybe 3-4 passed me in the finishing stretch...somehow Jodie got 45secs back to start off 6:45 (in comparison to my 14:30) and i only finished 14secs behind her - she definitely keeps her eye out for me!...she managed to continue her sub 30:00 streak (now stands at 11) with 29:17 (her 5th fastest)...today was her 40th run which is even more amazing considering she describes the run as "sticking a fork in her stomach for 30mins"!!
the stats:
start temp/humidity: 14.8/49%
start time: 12:31pm
total distance: 5.02k
total time: 21:46
avg pace: 4:20
total calories: 375
avg HR: 172
finish temp/humidity: 14.7/48%
1k splits: 4:04 , 4:20, 4:23, 4:23, 4:27...
i'm very pleased to see the consistency of the run (i'm "resigned" to that 1st k always being a bit faster!)...time at the turn 10:47 good as well (didn't look at my watch at all during the run - got this from SportTracks)...

IF I survive Sunday's handicap and next week's half marathon, I will be there for the thirty year run,... and make a note not to chase allrounder in the first km.
4:04! I dream of doing that for the first km of an interval session.
The FlashDrake has something to say about the first kilometre: someone needs to have a word with this girl (that is, you) about pacing! Consider yourself warned!
