2 seconds...

was all that stood between me and 3rd prize in today's Customs run...that and the fact that Adrienne held me off in the last couple of metres to beat me by a second AND it was the margin between today's run and equalling last week's PB!

no Jodie to hunt down today but Adrienne provided a good target, starting 45secs in front...Richard M started 15secs in front and i caught him as we passed under Commonwealth Ave bridge...another guy started 45secs in front of Adrienne but she caught him around Regatta Point so he was my next target...made the turn at 11:02 (my fastest yet)...passed Rick as we approached the ferry terminal...passed the guy before Commonwealth Bridge...Gordon passed me on the gravel then i passed Doug near the world sculpture then Pete Davis not long after...meanwhile Christophe passed me as we neared the end of the gravel before hitting the path...up the hill and around the BBQ shelter then we had to dodge some early Floriade (?) preparation which slightly altered the run to the finish...i passed Amanda as we hit the dirt for that then i lengthened my stride to try and catch Adrienne...closer and closer i agonisingly got then within about 10m of the line she heard me and put her foot down to pip me by a body width...what fun!...and to top it off, we finished AHEAD of Demetrios!

bet you can't tell i'm stoked with that run?!...i put it down to the faster stuff that i'm doing for the half while my improved endurance must be allowing me to go harder for longer...

Whenever you can do a repeat performance in a race you know your getting so much fitter.Stick with the 1km repeats and try to do them as close to the same pace as you can but like Goldilocks....
