a very warm (OK, hot) New Year's Day saw both Jodie & I attending the Jogalong...i did the "6k" while Jodie did the "3k"...both courses measured short...
the 6k had to be revised due to downed trees and muddy areas...it was a similar course to the October run where i ran 5.47k in 26:46...
the stats:
start time: 9:36am
total distance: 5.57k
total time: 26:04 (official 26:06)
avg pace: 4:41
total calories: 448
avg HR: 171
Jodie was attributed with 15:00 (3rd) for her run but seeing as she doesn't do 5:00 pace, the course was closer to 2.3k...
both of us were quite happy with our times given the conditions...i was 2nd last starter and was hoping to keep my 1:00 gap to Katie F (of Team Moore) but she managed to make a 10 sec inroad...
we headed to the coast around lunchtime...we stopped at Braidwood for ice blocks then into Batemans Bay to pick up the keys for our house in Tomakin...
we headed to Moruya to shop for essentials and have a snack before the rest of the day was spent recovering in the cool before taking a night walk on the beach with Hux...
on a much cooler Monday we headed out to locate some geocaches and had great success...the first one was on Broulee Island (not really an island) and took some time as it was a bit of a hike & quite well hidden...the second was in Batehaven & much easier by comparison...
headed into the Bay to get some fishing stuff before we hit Tomaga River around 6ish...the current was running quite quickly and we didn't have any success...
then it was home for a BBQ dinner...
Tuesday I headed out for an easy run...
the stats:
start time: 8:40am
total distance: 7.47k
total time: 44:47
avg pace: 6:00
total calories: 765
avg HR: 141
basically did loops around Tomakin including twice up Melville Pt (short sharp hill)...
then back to base to change into swimming gear...persuaded the others it was a good idea and we headed down to the beach with boogie & surf boards in tow...as it turned out, i was the only one to hit the waves (or were they hitting me?!)...the water was cold upon entry but you soon got used to it...
had brunch when we got back and watched the cricket for awhile...
headed out to fish again in mid-afternoon and had a little more success in a different spot (Suze & I fished while Jodie went for a run)...we caught three fish - 2 unknown & 1 bream which we released (none of them were worth telling stories about!)... we did take photos but will have to wait until i am back at work to see them...
i drove back last night in preparation for the commencement of the women's u19 national champs which are being held in canberra...
today i was umpiring the Vic/SA match at Chisholm which was a very one sided affair...Vic made 302 and then dismissed SA for 66...
tomorrow is a rest day for me with friday my next appointment (TAS/WA at Chisholm)...
Jodie & Suze have continued geocaching, locating another 2-3...
and Jodie's own Garmin (Forerunner 201) has arrived so now we are a 3 Garmin household!
