Blitzed it...

had an interesting walk back to the car on Friday after work...crossed paths again with Julie Q on her bike...got about half way across the bridge when it started to rain...by the time I got off the bridge it was bucketing down and very windy as well...needless to say I was soaked by the time I got to my car!

headed to Majura to do the shopping by the time I came out of the shops the rain had stopped!

Saturday I opted not to parkrun...picked up my stuff for marshaling from the Australian Running Festival hub...the last of the 10k runners were finishing as I got there...

golf was interesting as you'd expect in the wind...had a quadruple bogey on the 8th to be 7 over my handicap but had a pretty good back 9 to only finish 4 over, enough to win a ball...

yesterday I was up early to head out my marshal point on Parkes Way just before Anzac Parade...I actually got there about 15mins early so I had a long wait for the lead marathoners to come through (just before 2 hours) then it was reasonably steady for the next 3.5 hours...

Cookie blitzed her first marathon, passing me well ahead of the 3:45 pacers...

I managed to call out to most people I knew as well as get some photos...

one runner stopped near me with an injury...I spoke to the medical coordinator (no transport unless it's life threatening) so it looked like he was going to have to walk back to the finish...in the end he stayed with me and used my phone to call his wife...she got an Uber from the finish...meanwhile I flagged the medics on bike down and they assessed him and gave him a space blanket after he initially refused one...

turns out he is a coolrunner and posted on the forums that he was in hospital with what looks like a stress fracture in his femur!

lots of chatter about the misdirection of the ultra runners early on in their event...apparently people were running up to 8k extra!

the last "runner"...walking the marathon...passed me just after 11:45am so I ended up with an early mark...

later in the afternoon I went to Pete's Golf Connection at Narrabundah and bought a new buggy...

up on time this morning to walk the boys before riding to work...was quite windy...
