Sunday...Sri Chinmoy Triple Tri...

had a bit of a laid back morning before getting ready to play my part in the Rads Rejects...

got an update or two from team captain (Peter Hogan) before heading off to Tuggeranong to drop off my bike... from there to Garran to drop off my car...Suze & Jodie picked me up and dropped me off at the run start in Waramanga...



it was almost straight into a tough uphill stretch to the peak of My Taylor...at least that part was out of the way early...still had to watch my footing on some of the downhill bits but once I hit the bike path all was good...I was passed by three competitors (only 1 on the uphill!) but passed three as well...

had a 27min break before heading off on my bike leg...managed to get over to the next transition, have a pit stop, get changed and still have a few minutes to spare...mum & dad were there so they took my backpack to the end of the run leg for me...Michael had a great swim...

the first 7.5k is on paths before hitting the trails...had 1 minor fall (only minor damage) once I hit the trails (d'oh)...I walked the steep up & downhills...had a brief stop at 14k to grab a couple of cups of cool water and some jelly beans before continuing on...

I was probably heading for a time of around 2:05 when disaster struck in the form of a flat tyre with just over 2.5k to go (after all the hard work was done)....then in the single tagged track through the back of O'Malley I didn't have enough speed to make it through a massive muddy patch and of course had to put get of my bike, promptly sinking up to my ankles in the stuff!...eventually finished and handed over to Peter for the last leg...

headed home instead of to the finish as I was stuffed and need to clean up...spent 20mins cleaning bike, shoes, socks and legs once I got home!

I think I will sleep well tonight!!

"had 1 minor fall" --- that would be the end of me which is why I don't risk these runs!

the fall was on the bike leg and it was sideways so only minor damage to elbow and just below my knee!
