The trip ends...

Friday I was up early to get in one last run...I started while people were finishing the Captain America 5k which is part of the Super Heroes Half marathon weekend...the Doctor Strange 10k is on Saturday and the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon is on Sunday...all races start at 5:30am with many corrals (waves) for each...

after packing and leaving our bags with the hotel, we headed back to DCA to do a couple more rides including Toy Story's Midway Mania and then, of course, it was time for one last shop!

our driver arrived early and we were at the airport at about 6:45pm with our flight due to depart at 9:55pm...

security was crazy and Jodie got caught by the "sugar police" as the contents of her carry-on (mostly M&Ms and chocolate bars) was too "dense" for the scanner and had to be hand checked!

our flight's departure was slightly delayed due to construction work and we ended up arriving in Australia 25mins late...I watched you before me, Mike and Dave need wedding dates (fell asleep in this one!), Race (about Jesse Owens)...

we had about 3hrs in Sydney before our Canberra flight was due to leave..we managed to catch up with one of our ex-footy teammates who now lives in Cairns...

our Canberra flight was held on the tarmac for an hour as they were only using one runway due to the wind...the flight itself was quite bumpy with a couple of belly droppers as we got close to Canberra...only right we should finish the trip with one last ride!
