BBQ Stakes #8...

stayed on 22:30 for BBQ Stakes - Adrian tells me my handicap will drop by 1 minute once I've done 10...

conditions were cool but much nicer than last week without the wind...I finished 34th...

the stats:
start temp/humidity: 11.5/60% (apparent temp 10.0)
start time: 12:33pm
total distance: 6.05
total time: 29:02
avg pace: 4:48
total calories: 421
avg HR: 160
recovery HR: 102/34
heart beats per k: 768

1k splits: 4:48, 5:03, 4:51, 5:18, 4:23, 4:27, 0:11

6th time on the standard course, this ranks as 4th fastest...

chatting with Jim W before the start, he asked me if I was doing the half on the weekend and what time I was going to do it in...I said yes and that I didn't know...he asked was I going to go under 100? my response was to laugh and say that I'd never broken 100...he said I should be able to do that easily...really?...one of my pet hates (which I have expressed before) is people telling me what times I should be running!

mind you, I think it was a lead in for him to say that he always used to break 100 and that when he ran a 97 he considered that slow...now he struggles to break 115 because he's old (his words not mine!)...

Heart beats per k is my favourite stat. Best indication of aerobic fitness. Course and weather dependent - always going to get a higher reading at the Stakes.
