Track Meet #12 2011/12

arrived early to enter and watch the mile events...

Marty and Emily were pretty impressive with their wins while Angel won the vets handicap version...

did my now usual warm and then waited near the start...when the entrants were read out, Amanda's and my names were missing despite both of us entering at around 7:10pm!...our names were added manually so I hope we show up in the results...

they used a split start due to the numbers (~30 starters)...I started in the wide start...I decided to make a conscious effort to go fast and tailed Lucia for the first k or so before she pulled away...was pleasantly surprised to pass through 2k in 8:21 (Geoff S was calling out the times) so tried hard to maintain my effort to the end...

12:33.25 - 19th out of 27

lap splits: 0:48, 1:39, 1:40, 1:40, 1:42, 1:43, 1:44, 1:36

a season's best by 15secs and my 2nd fastest time ever!

oh, I got lapped by the winner, Marty again, twice...he "only" beat me by about 4mins! (8:37.41)
