If you ran the hour I could run it with you at your pace? That would give me another 13.33333333 km for the day... so I would only have to run 6.66666667 km in the morning. Roughly.
1 hour = definite PB. It will also make me very jealous of you, as even in interclub, there is no way for me to run this race.
Word is out that JF is trying for some record though, so it may also mean serious lapping.
Next idea: The track is hard and is not always happy to run on. So going shorter maybe better. I also know you and your speed better than you do, and therefore I think your 3k pb can be brought down with a bit of effort - it won't be an easy run though.
So, my thoughts: If you feel good after work and like putting in a decent effort, run the 3k. If not, jog through the hour event. It is an unusual event and you lot get to run 3ks all the time. Either way, I'm really envious of you Vets.

(d) 800 metres - fresh you should run a sub-3:00 PB.
OR
(e) 800m PB + 1 hour PB.
