we had it all last night, sunshine, pouring rain, thunder & lightning...
this was a tough one at Mt Taylor to finish on, particularly when it started pouring, fortunately i only had three controls to go whereas Jodie was caught up top out in the open with six controls to go...some of those lightning strikes were really close...
the orange 1 course was only 4.4k but had lots of climb...i took 71:18 (16:12 pace) while jodie took 86:XX (19:33 pace)...not good times but OK under the circumstances...i think trevor jacobs took only 35mins!
the stats:
start temp/humidity: 26.8/50%
start time: 5:27pm
total distance: 5.63k
total time: 1:11:18
avg pace: 12:39
total calories: 642
avg HR: 144
finish temp/humidity: 20.8/79%
we were both thoroughly soaked by the end...this is probably the closest jodie has come to pulling out but i think she was happy she persevered...now there's a bit of break until we do our next event, probably late april for me for the next one...between now & then we will be fairly busy on the weekends and we will have moved house...
i'm such a slacker, i couldn't be bothered riding in today!
today's run session:
10:00 warm up
light stretching
6 x 80m sprints building from 70% to 100% with walk recovery
3 x (2x2k,1x1k/90secsSR)
10:00 cool down
oh, i found out earlier this morning that i have been appointed to a second grade semi final (played saturday & sunday) so that's cool...
