Track Meet #22 2010/11

only one event tonight, the last 3000m in this season's Moore series, and I think I was inspired by Tim's Stage 4 effort!

I got there nice and early...after a chat with Janene and Ruth, I did a 1k (!) warm up...

conditions were perfect and I had the splits for an attempt at 12:45 (a PB) written on my hand:

0:51, 2:33, 4:15, 5:57, 7:39, 9:21, 11:03, 12:45

it wasn't a huge field and most of them were pretty fast...I kept on eye on Maria as I knew she was targeting sub 12:30 and I managed to stay within 30-40m of her...

I knew I was on track for something special when my actual splits were ahead of my real splits:

0:48, 2:28, 4:09, 5:50, 7:32, 9:14, 10:56, 12:28 !!! [official time: 12:27.53 70.8 age %]

lap splits: 0:51, 1:40, 1:41, 1:41, 1:42, 1:42, 1:42, 1:32
k splits: 4:09, 4:14, 4:05

now to await the official time! I can only hope that this apparent purple patch incorporates Sunday's HM!!!

I then rushed off to Telopea High to get my instructions for Saturday as a course marshall...
