Made it back in 12:55, two of us ran together from the start to the finish. Hope you could see us through the check points, we were doing really well until we started hitting the big salt pans... could actually see the curve of the earth, nothing around us, like captain jack in pirates of the carribean.
At one point the trail marker was set of animal hip bones, sprayed pink [usual marker, pile of rocks or a large rock sprayed pink]
ITB phased in and out, but more seriously, my right patella ligament is hurting like buggery.
Nose bleeding every time I blow sand out (ed: that’s just gross!)...trying to avoid blowing.
The last two legs were slow, but we're all in one piece. No blisters yet. We cleared the dunes before dark then it was a pretty simple (ed: simple?!) 21 km back - I failed to manage my food properly ;( resting up for today.
Only 42km tomorrow then a parade lap the day after that. HATE THIS KEYBOARD!!!
