Mad Monday

Monday started with my now routine effort of ride to gym/gym/ride to work...

after being knocked back for the place in Casey, I wasn't too confident about the applications I had in for places in Harrison...

however, if it doesn't rain it pours!

Suze contacted me via email to let me know that LJHooker had contacted her for a reference (this was for the online app I submitted Friday after viewing the property on Thursday)...promising but not the property I REALLY wanted..

then a message is left on my mobile just after 12pm to ring LJHooker - I delayed hoping to hear back from the place I really liked...

LJHooker rings again about 50mins later...I ring back and get offered the place - I ask for the latest time I can give them an answer (I didn’t want to let this one go on the off chance I might get the one I REALLY liked), the agent says 3:30pm...

LJHooker proceeds to ring me twice more, the second time to check my likelihood of pulling out (I hadn’t mentioned the other place)...

in the end I cave and ring LJHooker just before 3pm to take the place - we set up a meeting to pay the bond etc and sign the lease...

literally 5mins later my branch head’s EA comes over and tells me that she’s just given me a reference for a real estate agent (my boss is overseas and she had taken the call)...

I assume it’s for LJHooker (not thinking about the timing) only for her to tell me know it was for First National!

Argh, I ring Jodie and tell her then HER mobile rings - she says she’ll let it got to voicemail but I say no, what if it’s First National??!

She hangs up and calls back 5mins later, it was First National and they’d left a message to speak to Suze but she was teaching...

Jodie was confident I had the place I REALLY wanted...

At 3:10pm First National rings and offers me the place - of course, I jump at it and, despite offering more rent than asked on my application, I get the place at the original asking price which was less per week than the other places I had looked at!

I had to ring LJHooker back and cancel (they had other applicants as the vacancy rate is very low at the moment so they should easily still be able to get another tenant)...fortunately I hadn't signed or paid for anything...

SO I sign the lease tomorrow and get the keys on 20 April!!

needless to say it was a bit stressful but a relief in the end...it's all going to be a new experience as I have never lived by myself...

I rode home after work and then had a really good footy training - which was just as well because I had energy to burn!

today I paid the bond and first rent...

I also did an easy run at lunch...
